Eicher Motors Ltd. has secured Environment Clearance (EC) for the ₹1,104 crore brownfield expansion of its Royal Enfield manufacturing facility in Cheyyar. The plant manufactures Royal Enfield motorcycles.
While the company’s proposal submitted to the state government pegged the investment at ₹1,104 crore, a subsequent company statement mentioned the project cost as ₹958 crore.
The expansion will include the development of additional industrial infrastructure such as a factory building, vehicle assembly units, a machine shop, engine assembly lines, fabrication facilities, and surface finishing and plating units, aimed at enhancing production capacity and operational efficiency.
