₹75 Lakh Boost for Kerala's Green Maritime Tech

Kerala-based deep-tech climate start-up Neiox Eco Cycle has received a ₹75 lakh prototyping grant from Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) under the USHUS Maritime Innovation Scheme.

The grant cheque was formally presented at a ceremony held at IIM Kozhikode, where Neiox, founded by CEO Akhil Raj Pottekkat, also signed the official agreement with CSL.

Neiox will utilise the funding to develop what it describes as the world’s first sustainable, non-toxic, carbon-negative marine hull coating. The innovative material, formulated using captured air pollutants, provides anti-corrosive and anti-biofouling properties, offering a safer, environmentally responsible alternative to conventional marine coatings.

This breakthrough technology aims to address significant environmental and health challenges associated with traditional hull maintenance, while advancing India’s leadership in green maritime innovation.
