Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) has secured the lowest bidder position for a significant contract worth Rs 138.45 crore from Central Railway. The project involves modifying the Overhead Equipment (OHE) to upgrade the existing 1x25 kV electric traction system to a 2x25 kV AT feeding system. This work is slated to take place in the Amla-Nagpur section of the Nagpur division.
The upgrade is essential for meeting the increased loading target of 3,000 metric tonnes. This enhancement aims to bolster the efficiency and capacity of the rail network in this region, aligning with broader infrastructural improvements.
Scheduled for completion within 24 months, the project underscores RVNL's commitment to advancing India's railway infrastructure. This contract represents a significant step forward in improving the operational capabilities of Central Railway.
