Sangam Bio Refiner plans to set up Waste Based Power Plant Project in West Bengal

Sangam Bio Refinery Limited plans to construct a grain-based distillery and waste-based power facility in Alipurduar, Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. The project is anticipated to have a capacity of 1.5 MW and 60 klpd and will produce ethanol, which can be blended with petroleum or used as a fuel additive. The project is also anticipated to generate cogeneration power, which will be used to satisfy the project's own energy requirements and sold to the grid. 

The project is anticipated to be concluded by 2024 and will generate approximately 150 new positions. It is anticipated that the project will contribute to the economic growth of West Bengal by attracting new investments and employment and bolstering the state's industries. Cost of the project is 92 billion. Here are some of the benefits of the project: Create new jobs and boost the state's economy. 

Attract new investments and strengthen the state's industries. Reduce the state's dependence on imported ethanol. Produce co-generation power, which will help to reduce the state's carbon footprint. Support the government's ethanol blending program.

As of September 2023, The project is now in the stage of receiving approvals & has obtained all necessary government permissions work of the project is anticipated to occur in either 2023 or 2024.
