Sarovar Hotels, a key player under the French Louvre Hotels Group, has announced its largest-ever investment of ₹120 crore for its upcoming property — Sarovar Portico in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu.
Slated to open within the next two months, this milestone project underscores the group’s strategic growth in high-demand business hubs. Sriperumbudur, known for its thriving industrial ecosystem, presents significant potential for business travel, aligning perfectly with Sarovar’s mid-market positioning.
Currently, Sarovar Hotels operates 137 properties across 85 locations in India, with additional footprints in Nepal and Africa. The group has ambitious plans to add 16 to 20 new hotels by the end of 2025, focusing on expanding its presence in India, Nepal, and Somaliland. In the first quarter of 2025 alone, five new properties have already been launched.
Reflecting on 2024, CEO Jatin Khanna highlighted a strong year with 27 hotel openings, 43 signings, and robust double-digit growth. He reiterated the company’s focus on the mid-market segment, with no immediate plans to diversify into other categories. By the end of 2025, Sarovar aims to operate in 95 locations, with 65% of its portfolio concentrated in Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
