The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) has announced a tender for the two-laning of the Sautada to Shirapur section on National Highway 561. This project, aimed at upgrading the highway to a two-lane with paved shoulder or four-lane configuration, covers the stretch from Sautada at design 86/300 to 125/589 in Maharashtra, spanning a total length of 39.289 kilometers.

The contract for this significant infrastructure development is valued at Rs 244.56 crore. The selected contractor will be responsible for completing the project within a timeframe of 18 months, utilizing the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) mode. This approach ensures that the contractor will handle all aspects of the project, from design to execution.

In addition to the construction phase, the project includes a maintenance period of five years, ensuring that the upgraded road remains in optimal condition. This maintenance period is crucial for the long-term durability and safety of the highway, providing sustained benefits to the region’s transportation network.

Interested parties are invited to submit their bids for this project. The last date for bid submission is set for 12 July 2024, giving potential contractors several weeks to prepare their proposals and participate in the tendering process.

This project is part of MoRTH's ongoing efforts to enhance the national highway infrastructure, aiming to improve connectivity and support economic growth in Maharashtra. The upgrade of the Sautada to Shirapur section is expected to facilitate smoother traffic flow and reduce travel time for commuters and transporters alike.
