Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) has secured a significant contract from the East Coast Railway (ECR) by emerging as the lowest bidder (L1) for a crucial project. The project involves the provision of an automatic block signaling system with dual Multi-Section Digital Axle Counters (MSDAC). Additionally, the contract includes alterations in the existing Electrical/Panel/Route Relay Interlocking (El/Pl/RRI) stations across several sections.
The specific sections of the railway that will see these enhancements are Jakhapura-Nergundi, Khurda Road-Bhusundpur, and Bhusundpur-Golanthra. These sections fall under the Khurda Road Division of ECR. The introduction of the automatic block signaling system is expected to significantly improve the efficiency and safety of train operations in these busy corridors.
The project is valued at Rs 160.8 crore and is slated for completion within a 24-month period. This substantial investment underscores the commitment to upgrading railway infrastructure and improving operational capabilities in these sections. The dual MSDAC system, in particular, is a critical component that will enhance the accuracy and reliability of train detection and signaling.
RVNL's successful bid for this project is a testament to its technical expertise and competitive edge in the railway sector. The company has a track record of delivering complex railway projects, and this new contract further strengthens its position in the industry.
The East Coast Railway's initiative to modernize its signaling systems is part of a broader strategy to enhance railway safety and efficiency across its network. With the involvement of RVNL, the project is expected to meet high standards of execution and deliver improved railway services to the region.
