South East Central Railway (SECR) has issued a tender for the significant upgradation of the electric traction system between Jharsuguda and Raigarh on the Bilaspur division. The contract, valued at ₹105.1 crore, involves the enhancement of the existing 1x25 kV traction system to a more robust 2x25 kV system over a stretch of 70 Rkm/280 Tkm.
The scope of work includes the erection, testing, and commissioning of the upgraded traction system, aimed at improving the efficiency and capacity of the railway network. The project is expected to be completed within 18 months from the commencement date.
The tender submission deadline is set for August 27, 2024, marking an important date for potential contractors interested in participating in this key infrastructure project.
This upgrade is part of SECR’s broader initiative to modernize its traction systems and enhance overall rail network performance. The project is expected to support increased train operations and improve service reliability on this crucial railway section.
