SJVN Limited has announced the successful completion of a 72-hour trial run of Unit-1 of its 1,320 MW Buxar Thermal Power Project in Bihar on November 5, 2025.
This achievement marks a key milestone toward the commercial commissioning of the unit. The Buxar project, based on advanced supercritical technology, is designed to generate approximately 9,828.72 million units of electricity annually upon full commissioning, contributing significantly to India’s power generation capacity while ensuring high efficiency and reduced environmental impact.
The project is being executed by SJVN Thermal Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN.
Bhupender Gupta, Chairman of SJVN, commended the dedication of employees, contractors, and stakeholders, highlighting that this milestone underscores SJVN’s technical excellence and its commitment to sustainable and reliable power development.
