Som Distilleries: Pouring ₹600 Crore into UP Growth

Som Distilleries & Breweries has launched a ₹600-crore greenfield project in Khimsepur, Farrukhabad District, Uttar Pradesh. Marking the start of construction, a Bhoomi Pujan ceremony was held at the 40-acre site allotted by the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA).

The project is being developed through the company’s subsidiary, Woodpecker Greenagri Nutrients, and is set to become one of the Som Group’s largest integrated alcobeverage facilities. The complex will include a brewery, distillery, bottling units, storage, and maturation infrastructure, with an annual bottling capacity of over 12 million cases of beer. It will support Som’s portfolio of more than five beer brands.

Beyond expanding production, the project is expected to generate employment for 700–800 people, contributing to local economic growth. This development is a key part of Som Distilleries’ broader expansion strategy and reflects its commitment to building sustainable, large-scale infrastructure for India’s alcobeverage sector.
