Soma Wins Big: The ₹4,380.54 Crore Gargai Dam Project

Soma Enterprise has secured a major contract for the construction of a roller compacted concrete (RCC) dam on the Gargai River, along with a water conveyance tunnel and associated infrastructure works.

Valued at ₹4,380.54 crore, the project is scheduled for completion within 48 months. The scope includes building the RCC dam, developing a conveyance tunnel, and executing related civil and hydraulic structures to ensure efficient water management at the site in Palghar district, Maharashtra.

Once completed, the project is expected to enhance water storage capacity, enable regulated flow management, and improve distribution to surrounding regions. It also involves complex engineering activities such as large-scale concrete placement, tunnelling, and integration of hydraulic systems.

The contract further strengthens Soma Enterprise’s presence in the large-scale infrastructure and water sector in India, requiring advanced expertise in dam construction and underground works, and contributing to regional development and long-term water security goals.
