The Association for Industrial Development (AID) has submitted a proposal to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis seeking the creation of a dedicated steel cluster in Gadchiroli district, citing strong investment interest from multiple secondary steel producers—provided the state offers a competitive incentive package.
In its communication, AID said companies including Sanvijay Rolling & Engineering Ltd, Ramsons Group, Divyansh Steel Pvt. Ltd., and Goyal Iron & Steel are prepared to set up units in the cluster under supportive policy conditions. AID president Ashish Kale met Fadnavis and presented a concept note detailing a roadmap to develop Gadchiroli into a sustainable, globally competitive steel manufacturing hub. The note was also shared with Industries Minister Uday Samant and Principal Secretary (Industries) P. Anabalgan.
The proposal outlines key requirements such as pre-acquired industrial land banks with plug-and-play infrastructure, affordable MSME allocations, and the phased development of at least 1,000 hectares. It also stresses the need for robust rail connectivity, reliable water and power supply, and an enabling ecosystem for independent power producers to offer electricity at competitive rates.
The initiative builds on discussions at the Advantage Vidarbha 2025 summit, where industry leaders—including JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal and Lloyds Metals & Energy MD B. Prabhakaran—highlighted the vital role of secondary steel manufacturers in supporting large integrated plants.
Kale noted that Gadchiroli’s iron ore reserves, improving infrastructure, and the government’s push for balanced regional development position it to become one of India’s most promising emerging steel hubs.
