Steel Powerhouse Grows: AIC Iron Unveils Expansion Project in West Bengal

AIC Iron Industries Pvt. Ltd., based in Kolkata, West Bengal, is planning to expand its existing steel plant located in Benipur, Saltor, Purulia, West Bengal. The expansion includes installing a 1x400 TPD DRI Kiln, 3x15 T Induction Furnaces, a 0.192 MTPA Rolling Mill, and a 13 MW Captive Power Plant.

The expansion aims to enhance production capacity by producing 1,32,000 TPA Sponge Iron, 1,46,000 TPA billets, and various structural steels. The project will be situated on 24.74 acres of land within the existing plant premises.

Water requirement for the expansion project is estimated at 354 m3/day, sourced from River Damodar. The total power requirement is estimated to be 24 MW, with 13 MW sourced from the proposed Captive Power Plant and the rest from DVC supply.

The project is expected to cost Rs. 125 Crores and aims to make the steel plant more viable and efficient.
