Tata x Qualcomm: The New Power Couple of Automotive Tech

In a major boost to India’s semiconductor and automotive technology landscape, Tata Electronics has partnered with Qualcomm Technologies to manufacture Qualcomm Automotive Modules in India.

As part of the collaboration, Tata Electronics will act as a manufacturing partner to meet growing global demand for modular automotive platforms. The modules will be produced at the company’s upcoming semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) facility in Jagiroad, marking a significant step forward in strengthening domestic semiconductor manufacturing capabilities.

Designed for both Indian and international automakers, the modules will support applications such as digital cockpits, infotainment systems, connectivity solutions, and advanced vehicle intelligence technologies.

Qualcomm Automotive Modules combine the Snapdragon Digital Chassis system-on-chips (SoCs) with critical system components into a single, production-ready unit. This integrated approach streamlines vehicle system design and shortens development cycles by consolidating essential elements into a unified module.

Industry experts say the partnership reflects the automotive industry’s transition toward software-defined vehicles, enabling scalable, turnkey architectures for next-generation mobility platforms while reinforcing India’s role in the global semiconductor supply chain.
