Tech Boom Alert: Mangaluru Lands Major ₹3,500 Cr. Park

A major technology park is set to be established in Mangaluru, with IT/BT Minister Priyank Kharge announcing that the Karnataka government will soon seek Cabinet approval for the project. The proposal is expected to be tabled for discussion within the coming weeks.

Speaking at the fifth edition of ‘Technovanza-2025’, hosted by the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), Minister Kharge detailed plans for a 3.25-acre tech park featuring a 3.5 lakh sq. ft. built-up area, with a proposed investment of ₹3,500 crore. The project is a key part of efforts to position Mangaluru as a thriving tech hub and attract major industry players to coastal Karnataka.

Urging bipartisan support from local MLAs and the area’s Member of Parliament, Kharge emphasized the importance of collaboration in transforming Mangaluru’s economic landscape.

He also highlighted the state’s ambitious Global Capability Centers (GCC) policy, which aims to attract 500 new GCCs by 2029, generating employment opportunities for over 3.5 lakh professionals and reinforcing Karnataka's leadership in the global digital economy.
