Technip Energies Wins Major Cracker Project in India

Technip Energies has been awarded a significant contract by Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) to provide a comprehensive suite of services for the 1,500 kta Paradip naphtha cracker unit (PDNCU) block at the upcoming petrochemical complex in Paradip, India. This new facility will be seamlessly integrated with the existing refinery, which processes fifteen million tons of crude oil annually.

The Paradip petrochemical complex is set to be one of the four major petroleum, chemicals, and petrochemical investment regions in India. It will house a large-scale cracker unit and several downstream process units that will produce various petrochemical products. This project marks a substantial step forward in India's petrochemical industry.

Technip Energies will supply the license, basic engineering design package, proprietary equipment, and catalyst, alongside related services. Notably, the company will provide its proprietary separation trays technology, Ripple Tray™, and catalyst, ensuring advanced and efficient operations at the complex.

Bhaskar Patel, Senior Vice President of Sustainable Fuels, Chemicals & Circularity at Technip Energies, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the company's proven ethylene technology and extensive experience with mega crackers. He stated, “We are once again delighted to be entrusted by Indian Oil Corporation Limited for their mega cracker project in Paradip.”

This project underscores Technip Energies' ongoing commitment to advancing India's petrochemical infrastructure, leveraging their expertise and cutting-edge technologies to support IOCL's ambitious expansion plans.
