Techno Electric & Engineering Company (TEECL) has won a significant contract from RailTel Corporation to establish Edge Data Centers (EDCs) across 102 cities in India. Under the agreement, TEECL will design, finance, build, and operate the centers for a 20-year concession period, with an option for a five-year extension.
The EDCs will play a key role in improving digital infrastructure across the country, boosting the adoption of advanced technologies like AI, IoT, and augmented reality. By reducing latency, the centers will offer faster, more efficient content delivery and better network performance.
These EDCs will support Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and content delivery networks, improving real-time service quality and enhancing the overall digital experience for users. This is part of TEECL's strategy to lead the development of digital infrastructure in India.
The move is expected to significantly contribute to the growth of digital services and applications, marking a major milestone in the country’s digital transformation.
With this contract, TEECL strengthens its position in the data center market, signaling its commitment to expanding India’s digital ecosystem.
