Techno Electric Wins NERGS-I Power Transmission Project

REC Power Development & Consultancy (RECPDCL) has officially transferred the project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) for the NERGS-I Power Transmission project to Techno Electric & Engineering. This transfer, finalized on July 30, 2024, marks a significant step in advancing the power infrastructure in Assam. The NERGS-I Power Transmission SPV will oversee the establishment of a new 400 kV switching station at Bokajan, alongside the New Mariani 400 kV double-circuit line.

The handover involves the complete transfer of 50,000 equity shares in NERGS-I Power Transmission, which were previously held by RECPDCL. This includes all associated assets and liabilities. Techno Electric was selected as the successful bidder through a competitive tariff-based bidding process conducted by RECPDCL, a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC.

The share purchase agreement (SPA) between RECPDCL and Techno Electric paves the way for the successful bidder to commence its role as the transmission service provider. This project aims to enhance the region’s power distribution infrastructure, ensuring reliable electricity supply and supporting regional development.

This transfer underscores RECPDCL’s commitment to strengthening power infrastructure through strategic partnerships and competitive bidding, while Techno Electric is set to leverage its expertise to drive the project to successful completion.
