Telangana is gearing up to create its first artificial beach at Kothwalguda, with the Detailed Project Report (DPR) currently underway. The ambitious project, spread over 35 acres, is estimated to cost ₹225 crore and will be developed by the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC).
Announcing the initiative, TSTDC Chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy said the beach will feature floating villas, luxury hotels, and a wide range of adventure activities including sailing, bungee jumping, skating, and water sports.
Additional attractions will include a wave pool, musical fountains, open-air theatres, themed restaurants, beach shacks, cycling tracks, and children’s play zones. The site was strategically chosen for its land availability and excellent connectivity via the Outer Ring Road.
Currently, the closest natural beach to Hyderabad is Suryalanka in Andhra Pradesh, located 320 km away. The upcoming Kothwalguda beach, just 20 km from Gachibowli, aims to offer a unique urban coastal experience within easy reach of the city.
