Thakur Prasad Sao & Sons plans to set up Waste Heat Recovery Based Power Unit in Odisha

Thakur Prasad Sao & Sons Private Limited intends to build a steel plant in Lahandabud, Jharsuguda, Odisha. The Integrated Steel Plant in Lahandabud project is projected to cost roughly 380 crores. The company has applied to the environmental clearance authority for Terms of Reference (ToR). The plant will have a mild steel billet capacity of 400,000 tonnes per annum (TPA). 

It will also include a DRI plant with a capacity of 3,30,000 TPA as well as a pelletization plant with a capacity of 200,000 TPA. The project is estimated to generate roughly 1,000 jobs during construction and 500 jobs during operation. The project is projected to take three years to complete. The project is situated in an area with abundant iron ore and coal resources. 

The company is sure that the project will be successful and will contribute to the growth of the Jharsuguda district's economy. As of September 2023, The project is now in the stage of receiving approvals & has obtained all necessary government permissions work of the project is anticipated to occur in either 2023 or 2024.
