The Growth Engine: DPA Hits Historic 125 MT Cargo Mark

Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla, has set a new benchmark by achieving the fastest-ever handling of 125 million tonnes (MT) of cargo in the current financial year. With 72 days still remaining, the port is on track to register its highest-ever annual cargo throughput.

The milestone underscores DPA’s operational excellence, strong infrastructure, and effective coordination among multiple stakeholders. Highlighting the achievement, DPA Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh said the record further cements Kandla Port’s position as a critical driver of India’s maritime growth and broader economic development.

In a related development, a Danish delegation recently visited the port to explore avenues for strengthening maritime cooperation. Discussions focused on sustainable development initiatives, including zero-carbon emission strategies and the adoption of green technologies across port operations.
