The Rajasthan Water Grid Corporation is advancing construction of the Chambal Aqueduct under the Ram Jal Setu Link Project, a key initiative aimed at strengthening water infrastructure in Rajasthan.
Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma is scheduled to visit Guhata village in Bundi district on April 9, 2026, to review progress. The aqueduct, stretching approximately 2,280 metres across the Chambal River, connects Piplada Samel in Kota district to Guhata village. Being executed in mission mode, the structure will enable efficient water transfer while also serving as a route for local movement, improving connectivity in the region.
The project forms part of the revised phase of the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link Project and is designed to provide uninterrupted drinking water to nearly 3.25 crore people across 17 districts. In addition to meeting domestic needs, it will support irrigation and industrial use, significantly enhancing water security in eastern Rajasthan.
