The Residency Hotels, a 34-year-old hospitality brand owned by Chennai-based Appasamy Group, has unveiled plans for significant expansion with three new properties: a hotel-cum-convention centre in Madurai, a new hotel in Mysuru, and its second hotel in the Maldives.

Marking a strategic shift from budget offerings to premium boutique experiences, the group is also enhancing its existing portfolio to align with evolving market demands.

Key Projects:

Madurai:
A flagship development featuring 188 rooms and a 56,000 sq. ft. convention centre—one of the largest in the region.

Estimated Investment: Over ₹150 crore for the convention centre and approx. ₹1.5 crore per room

Positioning: Premium business and event destination

Mysuru:
A new 120-room hotel scheduled for completion by April 2027, targeting both leisure and business travelers.

Maldives:
The group’s second property in the Maldives is in the pipeline, reinforcing its international expansion strategy.

Overall Investment:

The combined investment across these projects is expected to exceed ₹500 crore, underlining The Residency Hotels’ commitment to premium segment growth and geographic diversification.

This expansion marks a new chapter for the group as it strengthens its presence in key domestic markets and high-potential international destinations.
