UP Unlocks Growth: ₹7,488 Cr Farrukhabad Expressway Approved

The Uttar Pradesh Cabinet has approved the construction of the Farrukhabad Link Expressway, a 90.83-km, six-lane greenfield expressway that will connect the Agra–Lucknow Expressway with the Ganga Expressway.

With an estimated cost of ₹7,488.74 crore, the expressway will stretch from Sawaijpur in Hardoi to Kudrail in Etawah, forming a seamless high-speed corridor with future provisions for expansion to eight lanes. The project will be developed under the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) model and is targeted for completion within 18 months. The selected contractor will also be responsible for five years of post-construction maintenance.

Approved under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the project reflects Uttar Pradesh’s continued emphasis on infrastructure-driven development. In addition to improving regional connectivity and trade efficiency, the expressway will benefit Farrukhabad, a major trading center and the location of Sankisa, a historic Buddhist pilgrimage site attracting visitors from across Asia.
