Vande Bharat Sleeper: Final Trial Successful!

Indian Railways has achieved a significant milestone with the successful completion of the final high-speed trial of the indigenously developed Vande Bharat sleeper train.

The trial was conducted under the supervision of the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS) on the Kota–Nagda section, during which the train attained a maximum speed of 180 kmph. Officials described the trial as a major step toward advancing self-reliant and modern rail technology in India, although no fresh launch date has been announced despite earlier projections.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw shared visuals from the trial, showcasing a water-glass stability test that demonstrated the train’s smooth and stable performance at high speeds. Comprehensive technical assessments were undertaken, including evaluations of ride comfort, vibration levels, braking efficiency, emergency braking systems, and overall safety standards.

According to the Railways Ministry, the train’s high-speed performance met all prescribed safety and operational benchmarks, and the CRS formally declared the trial successful. The 16-coach Vande Bharat sleeper train is designed for long-distance journeys and features state-of-the-art passenger amenities aimed at enhancing travel comfort.
