Vensar Constructions Secures ₹852 Crore Lift Irrigation Project in Madhya Pradesh

Vensar Constructions has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for the prestigious Maa Rewa lift irrigation project in Madhya Pradesh, securing a contract valued at ₹852.10 crore. The project, awarded by the Water Resources Department (WRD) of Madhya Pradesh, aims to boost agricultural irrigation and enhance water supply efficiency for local farmers.

The scope of the project includes supplying water through a pressurized pipeline system for micro-irrigation. The system will cater to individual farm fields up to five hectares, ensuring a duty of 0.35 liters/sec/hectare. The project will cover a culturable command area of 39,700 hectares out of a gross command area of 45,953 hectares. The total power requirement for the project will be capped at 33.45 MW, ensuring efficient energy use.

As part of the contract, Vensar Constructions will handle all aspects of the project, including surveying, procurement, construction, laying of pipelines, installation of pumping systems, and the construction of approach roads. The water distribution will be controlled using a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system and automation to maintain precision and efficiency.

The project comes with a 60-month defect liability period, during which Vensar will be responsible for managing, operating, and maintaining the irrigation system. This period may be extended for an additional 60 months, depending on performance and requirements, ensuring long-term operational stability.

This contract further cements Vensar Constructions’ reputation as a key player in India’s infrastructure development sector. By contributing to improved irrigation, the project is expected to significantly benefit the agricultural community in Madhya Pradesh, supporting increased productivity and sustainable water management.
