West Bengal Forges Ahead: Petro Carbon Strengthens Ferro Alloys Production

Petro Carbon & Chemicals Private Limited's foray into the ferro alloys sector with their project in Bardhanyaghata, Midnapore, West Bengal, marks a significant expansion for the Atha Group company. With an investment of ₹68 Crores, this venture holds substantial promise for both the company and the region.

Located in Bardhanyaghata village, Midnapore district, West Bengal, the project benefits from a strategic location amidst the state's industrial landscape. This positioning facilitates logistical efficiency and ensures access to key markets for ferro alloys.

While the specific production capacity of the ferro alloys unit remains undisclosed, potential capacities for various products include Silicon Manganese, Ferro Manganese, Ferro Silicon, Ferro Chromium, and Pig Iron. These products play vital roles in enhancing the properties of steel, catering to diverse industrial needs.

The project's significance extends beyond Petro Carbon's diversification efforts. By increasing domestic availability of ferro alloys, it contributes to bolstering steel production in West Bengal and neighboring areas. This, in turn, strengthens the region's industrial ecosystem and promotes economic growth.

In terms of employment, the project is expected to generate job opportunities in Midnapore, particularly in production, operation, and logistics roles. This contributes to local livelihoods and stimulates socio-economic development in the region.
