Brewing Tech in Chennai: Starbucks to Set Up India's First GCC

Starbucks is expanding its footprint in India beyond retail by signing an MoU with the Tamil Nadu government to build its first Indian Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Chennai.

Facilitated by Guidance Tamil Nadu in the presence of Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, the facility will function separately from the brand's Tata joint venture and create 800 high-paying tech jobs. Starbucks leadership praised Chennai's strong digital infrastructure and skilled talent pool, reinforcing the state's status as a top-tier destination for global business services.
