Cementing the Future: JK Cement Announces $4,805 Crore Expansion

JK Cement has unveiled a major ₹4,805 crore greenfield expansion project, approved by its board, aimed at significantly enhancing its cement manufacturing capabilities across key markets.

The expansion plan includes the establishment of a 4 MnTPA clinkerisation unit and a 3 MnTPA cement grinding unit at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Additionally, the company will set up two split grinding units, each with a capacity of 2 MnTPA, located in Rajasthan and Punjab.

According to its regulatory filing, this large-scale investment underscores JK Cement’s strategic commitment to expanding its footprint in India’s fast-growing infrastructure and construction sectors.

Earlier this year, JK Cement strengthened its regional presence through the acquisition of a majority stake in Saifco Cements, based in Jammu & Kashmir. The company currently holds a grey cement capacity of 25.2 MnTPA, along with a global leadership position in white cement (1.12 MnTPA in India) and wall putty capacity of 1.33 MnTPA.

This expansion is expected to consolidate JK Cement’s market position, enhance supply chain efficiencies, and support the company’s long-term growth strategy in the competitive cement industry.
