The Board of Directors of Godawari Power and Ispat Limited has approved the establishment of an integrated steel plant with an annual capacity of 1 million tonnes of finished iron and steel products.
The proposed facility will manufacture heavy and medium structural steel sections as well as wire rods, aimed at strengthening the company’s presence in the steel sector and catering to rising domestic demand.
The plant will be located at Sarora village, Tehsil Tilda, in Raipur district, Chhattisgarh, around 50 km from Raipur city. The project is estimated to involve an investment of ₹7,000 crore, to be funded through a balanced mix of debt and equity (internal accruals) in a 1:1 ratio.
