Slumberzone New Zealand, a premier luxury mattress manufacturer, is making its foray into India’s USD 2.5 billion mattress industry. The company is set to establish its first manufacturing facility in Hyderabad with an initial investment of Rs 100 crore, targeting operational readiness by March 2026. The facility will boast a daily production capacity of 1,000 units. This strategic expansion aligns with India's "Make in India" initiative, leveraging local manufacturing to cater to both domestic and international markets. The announcement, made in New Delhi, was attended by New Zealand’s Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, who lauded the move: “It is great to see ambitious New Zealand manufacturing companies, like Slumberzone, choosing India to scale up their operations. ‘Made for India, Made in India’ enhances collaboration, broadens our trade relationship, and contributes to the growth of both our economies.” Slumberzone plans to employ 200-250 local skilled and unskilled workers while integrating cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices. The venture is poised to elevate India’s sleep product segment while establishing the Hyderabad facility as a vital export hub. News by Rahul Yelligetti.
