JSW Cement Hits 21.6 MTPA Milestone with New Odisha Unit.

JSW Cement, part of the USD 23 billion JSW Group, has commissioned a 1.0 million tonne per annum (MTPA) cement grinding unit in Sambalpur, Odisha, through its subsidiary Shiva Cement.

Developed under a commercial arrangement with Bhushan Power and Steel, the facility strengthens JSW Cement’s position in Eastern India, catering to the region’s growing infrastructure and construction demand. With this addition, JSW Cement’s total installed grinding capacity now stands at 21.6 MTPA across India.

Strategically located at the tri-junction of Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand, the unit benefits from proximity to key raw materials and logistics hubs, further supporting regional industrial development.

CEO Nilesh Narwekar emphasized the unit’s role in advancing JSW Cement’s sustainable growth strategy, noting that the company aims to reach a total grinding capacity of 41.85 MTPA in the coming years. JSW Cement also continues to lead the industry with the lowest carbon emission intensity, underlining its commitment to green manufacturing and circular economy practices.
