SEPC Ltd has secured a contract worth ₹673.32 crore from Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) for key infrastructure works under the expansion of the IISCO Steel Plant at Burnpur, West Bengal.
The order forms part of SAIL’s ongoing programme to expand the crude steel production capacity of the IISCO Steel Plant to 4.08 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The award strengthens SEPC’s presence in the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) segment of the steel industry and adds a significant project to its order book.
The scope of work has been divided into two major packages. The first package comprises the Coke Oven Balance of Plant (BOP) works valued at ₹296.77 crore. The second package involves the Sinter Plant Balance of Plant (BOP) works, including associated civil and structural construction, with a contract value of ₹376.56 crore.
The project is expected to be executed over a period of 30 to 33 months and is anticipated to provide strong revenue visibility for the company during the execution phase.
The IISCO Steel Plant expansion is aimed at enhancing production capacity and supporting SAIL’s broader strategy of increasing steel output to meet growing domestic demand. The associated infrastructure works are expected to play a critical role in improving plant efficiency and supporting future operational requirements.
SEPC, formerly known as Shriram EPC, operates across multiple infrastructure sectors including water and wastewater management, industrial infrastructure, transportation and mining. The latest order further reinforces the company’s position as an EPC contractor for large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects in India.
