Vizag’s Green Giant: Saint-Gobain’s New Near-Net Zero Plant

Saint-Gobain India – Gyproc has commissioned India’s first Near-Net Zero gypsum ceiling tiles plant in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, marking a major milestone in the company’s sustainability and manufacturing expansion strategy.

“This investment strengthens our manufacturing footprint in India and enables us to scale low-carbon ceiling solutions closer to key markets,” said Sudeep Kolte, Managing Director of Saint-Gobain Gyproc India.

The facility, commissioned in December 2025, has an annual production capacity of 5 million square metres and will manufacture Gyprex PVC Laminated Gypsum Ceiling Tiles. The plant is expected to support the growing demand for sustainable, energy-efficient building materials in India while strengthening the company’s regional manufacturing capabilities.
