Wipro Kawasaki Precision Machinery—a joint venture hydraulic pump manufacturer—is investing Rs 1,000 crore to build a major new production facility in Karnataka, roughly 50 km from Bengaluru. Announced by Industries Minister MB Patil after talks with CEO Minoru Hatsuda, the project aims to generate approximately 1,200 local jobs.
The Japanese-Indian partnership has requested 30 acres of land from the state government, which has committed to expediting the allocation. This new plant will replace and significantly scale up operations from their current leased facility in Kumbalgodu, where they currently manufacture about 80,000 hydraulic pumps annually to meet growing market demand.
