A major push to civic infrastructure in the Sanwer Assembly constituency began with the bhoomi pujan of development works worth ₹305.23 crore under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme, led by Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat and Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav in Kanadia village, Indore district.
The project includes an 80 MLD sewage treatment plant at Dhankhedi, major pumping stations on the Khan River, and 179 km of sewer lines ranging from 250 mm to 1800 mm. According to the Minister, these initiatives will upgrade newly added urban areas by ensuring universal access to drinking water and sewerage services. Mayor Bhargav noted that after 29 villages were incorporated into IMC limits, efforts have been made to provide uniform municipal services. Additional AMRUT 2.0 packages will introduce new pumping stations and 83 km of sewer lines, benefiting nearly 3.5 lakh residents.
In the Rau Assembly Constituency, the Indore Municipal Corporation is set to launch multiple AMRUT 2.0 projects worth over ₹70 crore. These include a 6 MLD intermediate pumping station costing ₹53 crore and 56 km of new sewer lines. Under Package-4, an additional 27 km of sewer lines will be installed at a cost of ₹17.35 crore to further strengthen the region’s sewerage network.
