Adani Energy Achieves 100% Zero Waste-to-Landfill

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. (AESL) has been awarded the prestigious ‘Zero Waste-to-Landfill’ (ZWL) certification by global quality assurance leader Intertek, covering all its operational sites and corporate headquarters.

AESL successfully attained a 100% waste diversion rate, ensuring that no waste from any of its 54 locations across 16 states is sent to landfills. This achievement reflects the company’s robust waste management strategy focused on reduction, reuse, recycling, and recovery—preserving natural resources and reducing the demand for virgin materials.

Even with many facilities located in remote or challenging regions, AESL consistently maintained waste diversion rates above 99% for three consecutive years before reaching a perfect 100% in the current year. This milestone makes AESL the first transmission utility in India to sustain such high diversion levels over an extended period.

AESL’s environmental commitment is part of its broader ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy, initiated in FY21, with the ambition to rank among the top 10 electric utilities globally on ESG benchmarks.
