The Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) has granted Consent to Establishment (CTE) for two of the three proposed sites for a 1-GW AI data centre hub being developed by Google in partnership with the Adani Group and Bharti Airtel.
The approvals cover the Rambilli site in Anakapalle district and the Tarluvada site in Visakhapatnam, forming part of a broader plan to create a large-scale AI-focused data centre hub in the state.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, along with IT Minister Nara Lokesh and representatives from the partner companies, is expected to lay the foundation stone, marking the commencement of construction.
APPCB Member Secretary S. Srisaravanan stated that the consent granted for the Rambilli site is strictly from a pollution control standpoint. He clarified that zoning and other regulatory aspects are not covered under this approval, and that the consent will remain valid for seven years from the date of issue.
