AIIMS Bibinagar, a super-specialty medical institute being developed under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), has achieved 85.97 per cent physical progress as of December 2025 and remains on track for completion by 30 June 2026.
Located in Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district, the project commenced in July 2022 and witnessed accelerated progress following a PRAGATI review chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in June 2023. The review facilitated the resolution of critical bottlenecks, including the provision of permanent high-tension power supply and assured water connectivity, enabling uninterrupted construction and campus development. Fully funded by the Central government, the institute is expected to significantly strengthen tertiary healthcare services while supporting primary and secondary care delivery under the National Health Mission.
Upon completion, AIIMS Bibinagar will offer MBBS, MD, DM, MCh, nursing, and allied health programmes. The project is expected to generate around 3,000 direct employment opportunities and create substantial indirect employment across housing, transport, and local services. Officials highlighted that the PRAGATI mechanism has played a key role in ensuring inter-agency coordination and timely resolution of issues, contributing to the rapid pace of execution.
