Defence Tech Boost: VEM Technologies Raises ₹185 Crore

VEM Technologies has secured Rs 185 crore in growth capital funding from InCred Alternative Investments to support its manufacturing expansion plans in India’s indigenous defence sector.

The investment, made through InCred Growth Partners Fund-I and Fund-II, will be utilised to expand production capacity, strengthen advanced manufacturing infrastructure, and set up a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

Founded in 1988 and headquartered in Hyderabad, VEM Technologies operates in the aerospace and defence manufacturing sector, specialising in system engineering, integration, design, and quality assurance. The company supplies key systems and components for strategic missile programmes such as BrahMos, Akash, and Prithvi.

The investment highlights growing investor confidence in India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem, driven by localisation initiatives, policy reforms, higher capital expenditure, and rising export opportunities under the government’s push for indigenous production and self-reliance in strategic sectors.
