Essar Ports Expands Gujarat Footprint with New Tuna Tekra Terminal

Deendayal Port Authority (DPA) has awarded Essar Ports the project to construct a new multi-purpose cargo terminal at Tuna Tekra in Kandla, Gujarat. Essar Ports secured the contract as the highest bidder in a global competitive bidding process. The terminal will be built under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model with a 30-year concession period. Situated east of DP World’s Mega Container Terminal, the new facility is designed to significantly boost multipurpose cargo handling capacity and drive long-term EXIM and domestic trade growth.
