Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for eight development projects worth ₹153.81 crore during a one-day visit to the Fatehpur Assembly constituency in Himachal Pradesh. The initiatives are aimed at improving infrastructure, connectivity, and civic amenities in the region.
A key highlight was the bhoomi pujan for an 800-metre bridge over the Beas River, expected to enhance connectivity between Fatehpur and the Jaswan-Pragpur Assembly constituency, improving mobility for residents. The Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone for the Fatehpur–Badiali road project, supported by National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development, to strengthen rural road infrastructure.
Additionally, ₹35 lakh has been allocated for the construction of a Shaheed Smarak in Fatehpur to honour local martyrs and promote community remembrance.
These projects reflect the state government’s focus on balanced regional development, improved transport networks, and public welfare infrastructure. They are expected to enhance accessibility, support economic activity, and improve the overall quality of life in the constituency and surrounding areas.
