Himachal Approves Kullu-Peej Ropeway: Boosting Tourism and Access

The Himachal Pradesh government has sanctioned the development of an aerial ropeway connecting Kullu Bus Stand to Peej Paragliding Point, with an estimated cost of Rs. 80 crore.

Spanning 1.20 km, the ropeway will significantly improve access to Peej village, located 12 km by road from Kullu, and acts as the gateway to the scenic Lug Valley. This project aims to boost adventure tourism, foster economic growth in the region, and offer new opportunities for paragliding enthusiasts. A government spokesperson highlighted that the initiative is part of the state's broader vision to promote adventure, religious, and water sports tourism.

In addition to these efforts, there is a focus on developing eco-tourism, enabling visitors to explore Himachal’s natural beauty while ensuring the conservation of its ecosystems and resources.
