India's Server Surge: Kalyani & Compal Power Up "Make in India"

Kalyani Powertrain, a subsidiary of Bharat Forge, has signed a technology licensing agreement with Taiwan-based Compal Electronics to manufacture X86 platform servers in India. This collaboration aligns with the "Make in India" initiative, emphasizing local production, assembly, and testing.

Compal will provide technological expertise to ensure seamless execution. Bharat Forge Vice Chairman Amit Kalyani expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting its role in strengthening India’s manufacturing competitiveness. Compal CEO Tony Bonadero stated, "We are excited to collaborate with Kalyani Powertrain. As Compal expands its server business through strategic partnerships, Kalyani Powertrain’s deep experience in the Indian market will create strong synergies. We see this as just the beginning of more ICT-related business opportunities to generate greater value together."

Kalyani Powertrain’s electronics division will launch "Made in India" servers in February 2025 from its Pune facility, contributing to the growth of local businesses and the regional manufacturing sector.
