The government has announced the completion of 78 projects under the Sagarmala programme, with over 40 projects currently underway across coastal states and Union Territories.
Under the initiative, 124 projects worth ₹8,670 crore have been sanctioned, with the Centre committing ₹3,238 crore. Of this, ₹2,838 crore has already been released to states and implementing agencies. Maharashtra leads with 20 completed projects, followed by Tamil Nadu with 16, and Gujarat with 5.
Other states, including Andhra Pradesh, Goa, Karnataka, and Kerala, also have several projects either completed or in progress, reflecting ongoing efforts to boost India’s coastal infrastructure.
