Thales has inaugurated a new research and development centre in Bengaluru, titled Thales Research & Technology India, marking India’s inclusion in the company’s global network of five corporate research hubs, alongside those in France, the UK, Canada, and Singapore.
The launch coincided with the India AI Impact Summit and aligns with the India–France Year of Innovation 2026, highlighting deepening technological cooperation between the two countries.
Situated within Thales’ Engineering Competence Centre in Bengaluru, the new facility will concentrate on real-time embedded software, edge computing, and embedded artificial intelligence, while also advancing work on open-source hardware concepts. The centre is expected to bolster Thales’ capabilities in emerging technologies and contribute to its broader global R&D strategy.
