Kaynes x AOS: A Power Move for Indian Semiconductors

Kaynes Semicon has commenced commercial production of its intelligent power modules (IPM5), marking a key milestone in its advanced semiconductor manufacturing journey.

Developed in collaboration with Alpha and Omega Semiconductor (AOS), the initiative reflects a cross-border engineering partnership that connects expertise from Sanand and Silicon Valley. The IPM5 modules integrate 17 dies into a single package, enabling advanced functionality for motor control systems and energy-efficient appliances, while improving performance, efficiency, and reliability.

The collaboration between AOS engineers and the Kaynes Semicon team was instrumental in accelerating the setup of semiconductor packaging and testing capabilities.

The company achieved the transition from groundbreaking to commercial production in just 14 months, highlighting strong execution capabilities. The IPM5 modules are targeted at global markets, aligning with the vision of delivering “Made in India, for the World” semiconductor solutions and strengthening India’s role in the global power electronics ecosystem.
