Upper Assam’s infrastructure received a major boost with Union Minister of State Rameswar Teli inaugurating the new 720-meter railway overbridge (ROB) at Sripuria in Tinsukia. The ₹65 crore project was jointly funded by the Assam government (₹35 crore) and Indian Railways (₹29 crore).
Connecting AT Road to Sripuria, the ROB eliminates chronic traffic congestion caused by the old railway level crossing, ensuring smoother transit for emergency services, daily commuters, and local businesses. As a vital commercial hub, Tinsukia is expected to see enhanced trade activities, improved road safety, and accelerated economic growth thanks to this sustainable urban upgrade.
