MIST is Coming: NTT DATA's Undersea Cable to Supercharge India's Connectivity

NTT DATA, a global leader in digital business and technology services, is making multi-billion-dollar investments in AI and infrastructure to drive India's digital transformation. A key initiative is the Malaysia, India, Singapore Transit (MIST) submarine cable system, set to launch by June 2025. Spanning 8,100 km and delivering over 200 Tbps, MIST will enhance connectivity across Malaysia, India, Singapore, and Thailand.

NTT DATA is investing eight trillion Yen (approx. USD 59 billion) globally from FY2023 to FY2027, focusing on AI and data centres. The company plans to expand its global data centre capacity from 1,500 MW to over 2,000 MW, with India playing a crucial role, including an additional 400 MW capacity and the launch of its largest data centre campus (500 MW) in the country.

Further strengthening its innovation efforts, NTT DATA is expanding its Bengaluru Innovation Centre to advance AI, digital twin, and quantum computing technologies
