Mumbai's Mithi River Revamp: Trio JV Bags 10-Year DBO Deal

he Adani-Ashoka-Aakshaya joint venture (JV) has secured the Mithi River Development and Pollution Control Project (Package III) contract from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The project involves key components such as dry weather flow interception at tidal outfalls, gate pumps, transfer sewers, river training, service roads, retaining walls, and associated works. The JV will also handle the operation and maintenance of the project for 10 years, covering the stretch from CST Bridge in Kurla to Mahim Causeway, including the Vakola River. The project will be executed on a design, build, and operate (DBO) basis, ensuring end-to-end management from development through long-term operation.

The JV comprises Adani Road Transport (51% stake), Ashoka Buildcon (26%), and Aakshaya Infra (23%), and has received the letter of acceptance (LoA) for this major infrastructure initiative.
